Handlooms are part of an age-old Indian tradition; they reflect an element of our culture and rich artistry. By promoting handlooms, we support the artisans and the local community which has been passing on its skills to its next generations, said Lava Kumar, Director of Pochampally Handloom Park.
Upcoming Telugu actress Priya Chowdary inaugurated a week-long Pochampally Ikat Art Mela 2018, at Raghurama Vedika in Mohandas Complex on Bandar Road, Patamata, on Wednesday.
Ms. Chowdary said the hand-woven eco-friendly apparel, particularly the Ikat fabrics, silk and cotton saris showcased at the venue were a big treat for fashion connoisseurs.

The expo offers a range of handloom products like bed and home linen, dress material, silk and cotton saris in exquisite designs and contemporary colours by famous designers. Stoles, scarves, dupattas, table mats, cotton shirts, kurtis and hand bags also feature at the event.
The exhibition will be on till July 31, every day from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.
