PJR refutes TDP charge on Krishna project

HYDERABAD MAY 9. The former CLP leader, P. Janardhan Reddy, has reiterated the charge that the Government is neglecting Krishna waters project intended to serve the needs of the city and asserted that his party will continue to highlight the issue through agitations.

At a press conference, Mr.Reddy refuted the allegation of the Minsiter for Tourism, T.Srinivas Yadav, that Congress was politicising the issue. While the Congress initiated work on the project in 1994, the TDP Government slept over it for the last seven years, he alleged.

He wanted to know the fate of the tenders for the project called by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board in November 2001 before the elections for the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad.

Mr. Reddy said the response from women to the empty pot demonstration organised by the party on May 5 appeared to have angered the Minister.
