PG medical entrance topper files writ in court

HYDERABAD, MARCH 17. Gudipati Anantaram, who secured the first rank in the Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination but was refused specialisation of his choice, knocked the doors of High Court on Thursday.

He filed a petition before the High Court bringing to the notice of the court the fact that he had obtained rank 189 last year and was denied admission to the course specialising in radiology on the ground that he did not get a good rank. He appeared for the entrance examination this year and secured the top rank.

He lamented that in the name of allotment of seats to various categories and giving preference to in service candidates, he is denied the seat.

He filed this petition to implead himself in a writ petition filed by L. Maheshwar and others, who are challenging the rules framed to streamline the admission into the post graduate medical courses in the State. The petition will come up for hearing on Friday.
