People complain of worms in municipal tap water

CUDDAPAH: Drinking water supplied through municipal taps was unfit for consumption due to presence of worms, residents of Abdulla Street complained to the Cuddapah Municipal Corporation Commissioner, S. Aleem Basha, here on Saturday.

They also sought a culvert over an open drain, which the Commissioner inspected during Praja Patham.

Residents of Rahmathullah Street complained of incidence of malaria due to insanitation and choked drains. Fruit merchants and shopkeepers strew garbage at will choking drains, people complained and sought a dustbin on the street.

Rainwater stagnation

Minority women of Habeebullah Street complained of knee-deep rainwater stagnation on the roads, endangering health. DWCRA women of Besta veedhi sought house sites and pucca houses.

When minority women of Nakkash complained of stench emanating from drains and mosquito menace, Mr. Basha directed the MRO, Venkateswarlu, to ensure daily spraying of DDT in the houses.

The former municipal chairperson, B. Padmavathamma, municipal AEs, Komaraiah and Dowla, former councillors, Chennaiah, Basavaraju, and others took part.
