PCB to fund Asian Paints environmental project

HYDERABAD, APRIL 24. Asian Paints India Ltd., Patancheru plant, will receive a grant from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) for its environmental project. The factory manager, Sabyasachi Patnaik, in a press release said that Asian Paints would get a grant of Rs. 4.4 lakhs towards meeting part expenditure of the new project on `Ultra filtration of AMC Wash Water for recovery of pigments'. The project would concentrate the Apcolite Machine Colourant (AMC) wash water using the ultra filtration technology and AMC manufacturing would thereafter be a zero discharge process.

The APPCB Member Secretary, R. M. Gonela, inaugurated the project on April 22 on the occasion of World Earth Day.

He said that other industries in the region too should emulate Asian Paints and take the initiative to protect environment.
