Pak girl to be discharged soon

HYDERABAD, AUG. 21. Five-year-old Batool Hasan, the Pakistani girl who was in the State for a liver transplant, is to be discharged in a few days following her recovery after the surgery at Global Hospitals here on Aug. 7.

The Paediatric Hepatologist, Ramesh Kancherla, who has been monitoring the girl, said in a release that all her parameters were normal.

Her clinical condition was excellent, he said. Her eyes have cleared of yellowish tinge, a symptom of jaundice triggered by a genetic defect called Allagille's Syndrome, which occurs in one out of a lakh births and mostly triggers liver disease, leading to advanced cirrhosis.
