OU registrar asked to appear in court

HYDERABAD July 26. The High Court judge, N.V. Ramana, on Friday directed Panna Lal, the registrar of Osmania University to appear before him to answer the charges of contempt.

The contempt case was filed by Kusuma, who complained that the order of the court was violated. The case of the petitioner was that she filed a writ petition seeking adjudication about the dispute regarding filling of the post of the Head of Department, Telugu. The petitioner said that while hearing the case, the court had ordered status quo but one K. Venkat Reddy was asked to take over the charge as the Head of Department. She said that the act was willful violation of the court orders. The judge directed the registrar to appear before him on August 26.

Pratyusha case

A division bench of the A.P. High Court on Friday adjourned the two writ petitions filed regarding the death of cine actress Pratyusha to next Friday.

The bench, comprising Motilal B. Naik and Rohini was hearing the writ petitions filed seeking CBI inquiry into death of the actress.

Review petition

A division bench of the A.P. High Court comprising Bilal Nazki and D.S.R. Varma admitted a review petition filed by A.P. Minority Commission seeking review of the earlier judgment of another division bench wherein it was held that an individual member of the minority community cannot approach the commission for redressal of individual grievance.
