One held on cheating charge

VISAKHAPATNAM, AUG. 14. A resident of Kailasapuram, Jajula Venkata Dharma Rao (36), was arrested in connection with a cheating case and gold ornaments and a cell phone worth, Rs. 30,000

was recovered by the police.

According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, A.V. Subba Rao, Kandula Kranthi Kumar of Lakkavaram in West Godavari district, with the assitance of Dharma Rao, had allegedly cheated some youth by promising them employment. Posing himself as an Assistant Professor of the Regional Engineering College, Warangal, Kranthi Kumar, who stayed in a lodge in the city, approached a student of the Gayatri Engineering College, K. Krishnaji, and promised to provide a job in a software company in Hyderabad. Later he took away gold ornaments and a cell phone from the student, and left the lodge. The police arrested his associate, Dharma Rao.
