No major setback, says TDP

HYDERABAD, JAN. 19. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) feels the resignation of the former Minister and member of the dissolved Assembly from Allur, Adala Prabhakar Reddy, is no major setback to the party in Nellore district. It claims that the cadre is in tact in the Assembly segment and only an alternative for Mr. Reddy has to be looked for.

The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, is reported to have said as much at a teleconference with the district party units on Monday. He is credited with the view that Mr. Reddy left the party as he refused to show him a personal favour.

Party sources said Mr. Reddy's rivalry with the Information and Public Relations Minister, S. Chandramohan Reddy, in the district politics and his elder brother, Adala Raghava Reddy's proximity to the former Chief Minister, N. Janardhan Reddy, could have influenced his decision.
