Kidnap and beating up of dalam members alleged

KHAMMAM: The CPI (ML new Democracy) has asked Maoists to return the weapons snatched away from party dalam members in Bayyaram forests on Thursday.

New Democracy district committee leader P. Ranga Rao said on Saturday that in all ten weapons were relieved from the dalam members who were kidnapped into the forests. He said three members of the Ashok dalam were treated badly. They were beaten up brutally and forced to hand over their weapons. A submachine gun, SLRs and 303 rifles were among the weapons snatched away by Maoists.

Meet to discuss the issue

He said that the Maoist raid on the revolutionaries of New Democracy would be taken up with the Maoist leadership. The State leadership of the New Democracy would meet to discuss the issue. The civil liberties organisations also would be requested to take stock of things and fix responsibility for the episode. He said the New Democracy had been with people in the constituency in their stress and strain for the past three decades.

Protest programmes would be organised in all mandals.
