More Home Guards for Adilabad district

ADILABAD, DEC. 6. About 300 Home Guard posts would soon be filled in the district, according to the Adilabad Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration), S. Satyanarayana. He said this while addressing the Home Guards Raising Day parade here on Monday at the AR head quarter.

In his address, the Additional SP (Operations) A. Sattar Khan, said that a rise in the salaries of Home Guards was under active consideration. He said the Home Guards who had 180 days of continuous service during a two-year period stood good chances of being selected as police constables.

Mr. Satyanarayana and Mr. Sattar Khan lauded the services of the Home Guards. They said the voluntary force was much disciplined. The guards took out a road march in the town.

WARANGAL: The Superintendent of Police, K Srinivasa Reddy, has appreciated the services being rendered by Home Guards in maintaining law and order.

Participating as chief guest in the Home Guards Day here, the SP said the Government proposed to increase the percentage of Home Guards to be absorbed as regular constable. "The organisations has started with the spirit of selfless service. Today it is serving the interests of educated unemployed persons. Those who believe in hard work may join the service,'' he said.

Colourful parade

Earlier, the SP reviewed the colourful parade presented by the Home Guards and later flagged of a rally. The Additional SP, P Viswa Prasad, and the Reserve sub-inspector, Praveen, were present.
