Manmohan's visit: SPG team does a security check

SANGAREDDY: Special Protection Group (SPG) officers visited the Medak Diocese Church grounds, the venue of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit, on Thursday and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

They checked the helipad under preparation at the SAI sports complex few km away from the Church grounds. SPG DIG Chakravarthi, SP Devendra Yadav, Nizamabad range DIG Anjani Kumar, Medak SP B.L. Sujatha Rao, district Collector B.Venkatesam, Chief Commissioner, Land Administration TK Diwan, Joint Collector Vani Mohan were among the officials who reviewed he preparations.

Speaking to reporters the DIG said that additional forces from Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar have been summoned to beef up security in Medak on August 21.

He said that Medak is a no problem zone and there is no threat from any extremist outfit. However, combing operations are in full swing to ensure cent per cent security.
