Mangadevi award for Reddy Raghavaiah

GUNTUR, DEC. 6. The Mangadevi Award for contribution to `literature for children' will be presented to Reddy Raghavaiah, the awards committee convener, Penugonda Lakshmi Narayana, announced.

The award would be presented to him on Friday at the Sri Venkateswara Bala Kuteer, Syamala Nagar, in Guntur. Winners of a State-wide competition in singing, essay writing, and painting would also be presented awards on the school premises. About 400 students had participated in the annual Kappurapu Devi Chaitanya Memorial competitions.

`Unity in diversity' was this year's topic, the school founder, Nannapaneni Mangadevi, said in a release. M. Shravya of St. Paul's School, Hyderabad, K. Susmitha of Kids Pathasala of Macherla, in Group-A and N. Vasista of St. Ignesious English Medium School, Guntur, and S. Naga Raju of Government High School Goppannapalem in West Godavari district were winners in the Group-B.
