‘Nritya niketan’ completes 25 years

Rajahmundry: Nataraja Nritya Niketan, founded by Sappa Durga Prasad, well-known dance master in temple dance and in 1983 completed 25 years on Saturday.

The three-day silver jubilee celebrations were inaugurated initially with ‘Vijaya Viharam’, an exhibition with different styles in Indian dance like temple dance, Perini Siva Tandavam, Kartika Nritya Aradhana, different postures of dances, drawings by Sappa Durga Prasad on temple art.

RDO M. Jitendra inaugurated the exhibition and DSP S. Saibaba lighted the lamp. MLA R. Suryaprakasha Rao, MLC Kandula Durgesh and others participated in the function. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Suryaprakasha Rao said that Nataraja Nritya Niketan brought many artistes to top position and they got international recognition also. Mr. Jitendra said that the exhibition would provide information about different dance styles.
