‘No dearth of funds for development'

Minister for Information J. Geeta Reddy said that there was no dearth of funds for development activities and it was made possible only with the Congress government.


Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the newly constructed municipal building at a cost of Rs. 1.6 crore at Zaheerabad on Thursday, Ms. Geeta Reddy said that people should support the party for the development activities it has been implementing in the forthcoming elections.

She was indirectly mentioning about the forthcoming municipal elections.

The Minister also formally inaugurated drinking water supply system established at a cost of Rs. 1.75 crore in the town and laid foundation for laying CC roads in the town at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh. “We are implementing the programmes initiated by late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy without any compromise. Compare the development and welfare measures being implemented by our government and support our efforts,” she urged the people.

Drinking water

Referring to the low majority she got in the last general elections, the Minister said that many problems pertaining to the constituency were addressed including drinking water, railway under-bridge and roads. Though Minister for Municipal Administration Anam Ramanarayana Reddy was scheduled to take part in the programme, he could not attend the same.

Lok Sabha member Suresh Shetkar, former minister Mohd. Fareeduddin, Collector S. Suresh Kumar and others participated in the programme.
