‘ICAI helping in ensuring better practices’

VIJAYAWADA: Uttam Prakash Agarwal, president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), on Monday asserted that their institute had put in place many standards to ensure better practices in accounting and taxation areas in the country as part of its role as a regulating body.

Mr. Agarwal said at a press conference that the ICAI stood for unquestionable corporate governance and it never hesitated to give maximum punishment whenever there was any violation or transgression on the part of its members in the process of ensuring standards. Mr. Agarwal was here to inaugurate the new building of the ICAI Vijayawada branch constructed with a carpet area of 18,500 sq. ft. area in Alibaig street, Governorpet, at a cost of Rs. 5.5 crore.
