‘AB Celebrations’ launched

HYDERABAD: Andhra Bank’s Hyderabad Zone on Saturday launched ‘AB Celebrations’, a 43-day long programme meant to reach a wider cross section of people and enlighten them on the range of the bank’s services.

At a press conference to mark the launch of the programme, General Manager, Hyderabad Zone, B. Raj Kumar said, the zone was the most important in the bank’s operations. It covered Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak districts with 319 delivery outlets, comprising 141 branches, 14 extension counters and 164 ATMs. It had a total business of Rs. 11,300 crore, including Rs. 7,400 crore deposits and Rs. 3,900 crore of advances.

Focus area

Each of the six weeks would have a focus area like the re-launched AB Kiddy Bank scheme for children, educational loans, technology products like internet banking, ‘Arogyadan’ health insurance scheme, housing and vehicle loans, he said.

Mr. Raj Kumar also recalled that it was Andhra Bank that pioneered the credit card movement in India, with the introduction of the AB VISA card.
