KU V-C's call to safeguard Indian culture

WARANGAL, MARCH 24. The Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University, V. Gopal Reddy, observed that western societies are evincing keen interest on the Indian culture. "We must inspire our younger generation to safeguard our rich culture,'' he says.

Addressing a national seminar on "Modern Literature-Indian Culture'' at the senate hall here on Thursday, the V-C feared that Indian culture might soon lose its identity due to the influence of the western culture. Kovela Suprasannacharya, writer, warned that "Unless we sensitise youngsters on Indian culture, the western culture will take over.'' Professors -- A. Bhumayya, P. Jyothi, K. Katyayini and Yadagiri -- spoke.
