‘BJP State chief quoted wrong figures about Masula port land’

Alleging that BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana had made a false statement on the extent of land proposed for Machilipatnam port, Law Minister Kollu Ravindra on Monday advised him to check on the ground realities.

Mr. Lakshminarayana, during a media conference in Kadapa on Sunday, said that Machilipatnam Port was proposed to develop in 2 lakh acres. “The port is being developed in 5,300 acres. The credibility of the BJP is now in question with the wrong statement by its State chief. It’s up to him to introspect whether any project was completed in any cases, beginning with the Vanpic to East Coast Energy Project proposed in Srikakulam district,” he said.

He added that the BJP had been trying to defame the Telugu Desam Party’s industrial policy and false campaigns were part of the strategy. “Mr. Lakshminarayana is the man behind the land scams surfaced during the Congress regime while he was the Industries Minister,” opined Mr. Ravindra.
