Khammam gears up for Sriramanavami

Over 50 closed circuit television sets will be provided in the mandapam.

KHAMMAM: Arrangements are in full swing for the Sriramanavami festival to be held here on April 7. The Temple Trust Board chairman, Iluri Venkateswar Reddy and Executive officer, Ramakrishnam Raju said that the town would be ready for the celestial fete of the Sitarama Kalyanam within two weeks.

Online ticket booking for the Sitaram Kalyanam also began with Lakkireddy Prakash Reddy, a non- resident Indian reserving ten tickets for his family in a VIP enclosure at the Kalyanamandapam. The temple chairman said that steps had been taken for distribution of three lakh laddus through postal department on the eve of Sriramanavami.

The Mithila stadium- venue for the festival- was divided into 34 sectors and 50 closed circuit television sets would be provided in the mandapam. Entry into the stadium would be free for about 150,00 devotees during the festival. About 5 lakh water packets would also be made available for the devotees on the festival day. In all 150 public taps would be arranged for augmenting drinking water supply.

An information centre would also start functioning very soon in the town.
