The city is going to host ‘Aqua Biz India-2016,’ a three-day International Conference and Exhibition on Sustainable Aquaculture, at the District Sports Authority Stadium here from March 12. Over 100 stalls will be arranged by traders, exporters and equipment manufacturers for the benefit of aqua farmers from the State.
Besides providing a platform for the farmers to share and exchange knowledge, the programme will also give them an opportunity to meet traders and exporters and know the latest technologies and trends in the field.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, Collector H. Arun Kumar said that the event would be organised jointly by the Animal Husbandry Department, National Fisheries Development Board, Confederation of Indian Industry, Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Andhra Pradesh Technology Development and Promotion Centre (APTDC), MPEDA, IACR and CIBA along with a good number of corporate firms in the trade. “This is the best opportunity for the aqua farmers from the district to improve their knowledge in aqua farming and the trade as well. There will be a question and answer session in each seminar and workshop to be conducted on the sidelines of the exhibition at the same venue,” he explained. Home Minister N. Chinarajappa and Agriculture Minister P. Pulla Rao would inaugurate the exhibition, in which over 100 firms and 40 experts would participate.
