Islamic Academy educative campaign

HYDERABAD Oct. 5. The Islamic Academy for Comparative Religion, an institution formed for objective study of comparative religion and to bridge the gaps between different communities, has taken upon the task of educating people.

Muhammad Asifuddin, president, told a press conference here on Saturday that the academy would organise the first in the series of talks on Sunday. Mr. Asifuddin himself would deliver the talk on "Concept of God in major religions'' at the NTR Hall, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University. Such talks would be organised once a month with the aim of bridging the communication gap and creating a better society.

Among the guests at the talk are C.N.Gopinath Reddy, IGP, and Moulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, founder-president of Madarasa Al Mahad Al Aali Al Islami, Hyderabad. A question-answer session would follow.

He said the academy planned to focus on stopping the hate campaign at any community, adding that it was committed to removing "misinformation and disinformation about Islam and correct the picture''.

Mr. Asifuddin stated that interested persons could avail themselves of the benefit of studying the Vedas, upanishads, puranas, the Bible and the Quran, a collection of books and video cassettes at the academy promoting communal harmony and inter- faith understanding.
