`Indiramma Bhoomi' launch on Nov. 19

HYDERABAD, OCT.7. The State Government will introduce a new integrated land development scheme, `Indiramma Bhoomi' on November 19, the birthday of the former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

The Rs.500-crore scheme will be taken up for the benefit of the poor through cooperative joint farming societies, according to K. Raju, the Commissioner of Rural Development.

Addressing the presidents and directors of Cooperative Joint Farming Societies of Andhra Pradesh on the concluding day of the three-day training programme on "Leadership development" here on Thursday, he said that the scheme would focus on several aspects.

They were land reclamation, farm mechanisation, soil conservation, horticulture development and animal husbandry. An expert committee would be set up at the district level under the chairmanship of the Collector to identify the beneficiaries.
