`Implement schemes, generate jobs'

CUDDAPAH, OCT. 7. The Commissioner of Employment, B.V. Sudhakar, on Thursday exhorted the district employment officials of 23 districts to ensure implementation of schemes to provide employment to youth.

The 33 schemes include Udyogam, Udbhavam, Ujwal, Adrushtam, Keerthi, Soochana, Sahrudayam, Nivruthi, Bhukthi, Aasrayam, Sadhana, Vaaradhi, Visatharana and Gelupu.

Addressing a State-level review meet with employment officers and ITI principals at Sabha Bhavan, Mr. Sudhakar said 45,000 youth in the State were provided employment under the schemes between January and September.

Youth were being trained in 39 trades in the 82 ITIs in the State, he said.

Schemes abound

People could register their names in the nearest ITIs under Visatharana scheme, without going to district employment offices and this would save them time and money, he said.

The Gelupu scheme was aimed at intimating the physically challenged youth on vacancies and guiding them, he stated.

Aasrayam scheme envisaged identifying an orphanage in each district and imparting technical training to orphaned children.

Youth were trained for recruitment to Border Security Force, CRPF and paramilitary forces and 8,000 youth - including many from Cuddapah -- were employed under this.

Through the Soochana scheme youth were apprised about advertisements on vacancies in Government departments.

Household workers were being chosen for semi-skilled jobs under Bhukthi scheme. Unemployed women were imparted technical training under Sadhana scheme, the Commissioner of Employment said.

The Nivruthi scheme provided loans to scavengers. He asked the employment officials and ITI principals to record the daily progress in `Manchithanam' registers. The industrial units visited by the officials should be recorded in `Visesha Vishayamulu' registers and the data of employment provided must be entered in `Phalitamulu' registers, Mr. Sudhakar said.

The Joint Director, Ibrahim Khan, Regional Deputy Director, Ramalinga Reddy, Cuddapah District Employment Officer, C. Mani, regional intermediate officers, district employment officers and ITI principals participated.
