Hoarding campaign to highlight rural employment scheme

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Congress MP, V. Hanumantha Rao, has taken up a publicity campaign on the merits of the National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme through hoardings.

The first hoarding came up on National Highway 7 near Bowenpally on the city outskirts on Thursday. The first phase of the campaign with 35 hoardings will be confined to the city. They will be installed in other parts of the State in the second phase.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Rao said the campaign was aimed at supplementing the efforts of the Government in taking the programme to the masses.

It was a similar campaign by Congress workers that led to the success of land reforms during the Prime Ministership of Indira Gandhi.
