Haier plans to open 100 showrooms in India

VISAKHAPATNAM: Haier, a Chinese home appliances and colour TV company, aims to open 100 showrooms all over the country in its efforts to achieve a sales turnover of Rs. 500 crores to Rs. 600 crores during the current calendar year against Rs. 235 crores in 2005. It presently had 30 showrooms, including three in Andhra Pradesh.

Company's assistant general manager (south) Naveen Reddy told reporters on the occasion of opening an exclusive showroom in the city on Friday that the company was able to get 2.68 per cent of the market share by selling seven lakh TVs in one year of operations.

Branch head Srinivasa Rao spoke. He exuded confidence that it could touch the five per cent mark during the current year. The company would spend Rs. 40 crores on brand building during the year and would take up aggressive advertising.
