HYDERABAD: The Mini Jamboree 2006 of the Bharat Scouts & Guides was inaugurated by Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Wednesday.

Mr. Thakur said that the Scouts & Guides was the only organisation, which stressed on the character building of young boys and girls and encourages service to the community without any distinction of caste and community. He added that participants of the Jamboree and other events of the organisation get "good opportunities to know different cultures, develop new skills and gain more knowledge in all fields."

The Governor asked the students to take "full advantage" of this movement, which emphasises "duty to self, duty to others and duty to God." He also urged them to make service to others a "habit".
