`Government will fill all veterinary doctor posts'

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: The posts of veterinary doctor seem to be for the asking in the State Animal Husbandry Department if one is to go by the words of the Minister concerned, Gallapalle Surya Rao.

The Minister told mediapersons here on Monday that no qualified veterinary graduate was currently unemployed in the State. "We have absorbed all of them. After the Congress came to power, as many as 130 were selected to the posts," he said. If there were still any qualified veterinary graduates left, they could forward their applications to the Government, he said.

Mobile hospitals

He said during the nine-year TDP rule, not even a single post of veterinary doctor had been filled while his Government was keen on filling all the posts and improving medicare for the animals. He disclosed that the Government had cleared a project to set up 41 mobile veterinary hospitals in the State, including two to come up in Chittoor district -- one each at KVB Puram and Rompicherla.
