G.O. denying sites to anganwadi workers decried

NELLORE, FEB. 26. The Udayagiri unit of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), affiliated A.P. Anganwadi Karmik Sangh, has opposed the G.O. making anganwadi workers ineligible for allotment of house sites and denial of promotions to workers and supervisors who have completed 45 years of age.

The Sangh demanded that workers be paid Rs.1,000 and the ayahs Rs.500 as per the norms prevailing in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

It also expressed concern over the abolition of services of teachers in certain centres of Udayagiri project. The issues would be discussed during the visit of the general secretary, All-India Anganwadi Karmachari Mahasangh, Suchitra Mahapatra, to Udayagiri on Friday.
