Rosaiah inaugurates medical camp

He lays stone for 30-bed hospital at Singarayakonda Attends the death anniversary of MLA's father

ONGOLE: Minister for Finance, Medical and Health K Rosaiah said funds would be provided in the next budget for construction of buildings for the medical college sanctioned at Ongole.

Addressing a meeting got up to observe the 10th death anniversary of Pothula Chenchaiah at Tangutur on Monday, Mr Rosaiah said costly diagnostic tools like MRI would be provided in all hospitals in a phased manner. Satyam Foundation would increase number of vehicles from 45 to 210 soon to provide ambulance facility in all important towns in the State. The Government had arranged toll free telephone number 1056 to provide medical advice to people. Attempts were being made to appoint doctors on regular pay scales.

The Minister inaugurated a mega medical camp held on this occasion in which 25 doctors from Nizam`s Institute of Medical Sciences attended. Mr. Rosaiah lauded the efforts of Kondepi MLA, Pothula Rama Rao for organising the medical camp to commemorate his father.

Health sub-centre

Mr Rosaiah laid foundation stone for health sub-centre at Tangutur and for 30-bed hospital at Singarayakonda. He also laid foundation stones for check dams across Musi river at Paletipadu, Vennur and Muppavaram villages.

Earlier the Minister met officials at the guest house here and instructed them to supply power for seven hours to farmers and ensure proper supply of water to Nagarjuna Sagar farmers. District Collector B Udaya Lakshmi informed the Minister that repairs were completed to close breaches suffered to Kommamur canal in the recent floods.
