Former MP Appayya Dora no more

Srikakulam former MP Hanumanthu Appayya Dora died on Friday at a hospital in Visakhapatnam, following prolonged illness. He was 80 years old and is survived by his two sons and four daughters.

He was elected MP twice between 1985-89 and 1995-99 and MLA of Tekkali from 2004-2009. He played a key role in Srikakulam politics both in the TDP and Congress. He joined the YSRC but quit the party due to differences with former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao. Mr. Dora’s body was kept at his residence of Kasibugga. Hundreds of leaders offered condolences.
