Film producer ends life

HYDERABAD, AUG. 21. An upcoming film producer, B. Ananda Rao, who was producing a movie `Black Market', reportedly hanged himself at his residence Salarjung Colony, under the Langer Houz police limits, on Saturday. According to the police, Ananda Rao (40), a native of Krishna district, had come to the city 18 years ago. Initially, he worked as a civil contractor. He soon became friendly with some people in the cine field and decided to produce a movie.

He took a loan of Rs. 50 lakhs and had completed more than half of the film. Mr. Rao needed Rs. 20 lakhs to finish it, for which he approached another financer, who refused to lend and the shooting had to be stopped. Meanwhile, earlier lenders started pressuring him. He might have resorted to the extreme step after this, police said.
