Dismissal of Andhra University V-C sought

HYDERABAD, MARCH 11. Several student organisations on Friday demanded the removal of the Andhra University Vice-Chancellor, Y.C. Simhadri, before his term ends on March 31 since inquiries by different committees revealed that he had functioned against rules.

At a press conference here, N. Satish Kumar, State SFI secretary, Shravan Kumar, president, AISF, and S.L. Padma, State secretary, PDSU, said that the Congress party, when in the Opposition, had promised to initiate action against Prof. Simhadri for his alleged anti-student and anti-employee policies. But the promise was not fulfilled as yet.
