`Dataone' facility for Srikakulam

Srikakulam: Srikakulam town will have the BSNL's broadband facility, called `Dataone', by the end of this month. The equipment would be commissioned by the end of this month. Initially it would have 128-lines capacity, which would be released on first-come-first-serve basis.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, General Manager K. Neelayya said that application for the service would be received by the SDO, Srikakulam. Efforts were on to expand its capacity.

Also, the calling line identificationbased dial-up Internet facility would be introduced by March-end. BSNL landline customers could connect to Internet through dial-up mode instantly without having any Internet account. Special features of this service were there was no need to purchase Internet account and no registration or initial deposits needed. There was absolutely no chance of misuse and the tariff was only 10 paise per unit.
