HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday set aside the GO issued by authorities wherein priorities of the various sports and levels of participation have been changed in the government orders which determine the sports quota for admissions into MBBS course.

Justice L. Narasimha Reddy was disposing of the writ petition filed by Paramveer Singh. The petitioner informed the court that students aged between 17 and 19 usually take admission into engineering and medicine courses and can participate in national junior level competitions.

He complained that authorities have deleted the category of national junior level competitions from the list. Justice Reddy did not appreciate the stand taken by the Government and took note of the fact that when the admission process was about to begin the new Government Order was issued changing priorities, which is not proper.
