Concludes Jaitra Yatra at Nandikotkur Strong wave in favour of Congress: YSR

KURNOOL, APRIL 24. The 20-day `Jaitra Yatra' of the former CLP leader, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, concluded at Nandikotkur in Kurnool district on Saturday.

Dr. Reddy exuded the confidence that the Congress would win over 250 seats and form next Government.

Dr. Reddy said a strong wave was seen in favour of the Congress across the State and people were anxious to get rid of the `unfriendly' TDP Government.

The former CLP leader said his campaign began in the Chevella constituency in favour of Sabita Reddy and ended in Nandikotkur where Charita Reddy was contesting. Earlier, Dr. Reddy started his last leg of campaign at Owk by addressing a public meeting. Later, he addressed meetings at Koilkuntla, Banaganapalli, Panyam, Gadivemula, Midtur and Nandikotkur. He said the Congress Government would offer free power for agriculture and waive all arrears. Also, small domestic consumers with one lamp would be given free power. The road show by Dr. Reddy drew good response at Nandikotkur. A large gathering stormed his vehicle as he entered the town. He addressed a meeting at Patel Centre and concluded the meeting half an hour before the electioneering came to an end officially.

The Congress leader, Kesava Rao, who came from Hyderabad announced that Dr. Reddy would become Chief Minister if the Congress came to power amidst wide applause from the public.
