All the 15 Samithis in the district with an affiliation of 300 bhajan mandals and bhajan centres, and about 6,000 seva dal volunteers in the city and an equal number in the district, are participating in the celebrations.

Daily programmes

The daily programmes begin at 5 a.m. at all bhajan mandals followed by pujas. At the Sathya Sai Prema Sadan, nama sankeertana, cultural programmes and harathi are conducted daily in the evening. While some of the devotees have left for Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi, many stayed back to organise the birthday celebrations.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba had time and again exhorted that a moral rejuvenation was the need of the day which was possible only through revival of human values, said city Seva Samithi convenor D.S.N. Murthy. The mission of Baba was directed in this regard with the objective of pointing out that man was divine, he said.
