Charminar borrowers arrested

HYDERABAD July 3. Four accused in the Charminar Bank fraud were arrested and produced before the Metropolitan Sessions Judge following a special drive undertaken by the CID sleuths to execute the non-bailable warrants.

The arrested were, K. Susheelamma, B. Shankaraiah, K. Yadamma and Asgari Hussaini. Three other borrowers, M. Venkata Subba Reddy, M. Krishna Kishore and Ram Sudhakar Rao, surrendered before the MSJ. All the seven accused remanded to judicial custody.

Ganja seized

The State Task Force teams of Prohibition and Excise Department on Wednesday nabbed one, P. Dharam of Ramakrishnapuram in Ranga Reddy district, and seized 5 kg of ganja from him.

Postal staff held

The Sub Post-Master and the Postal Assistant of Vijayanagar Colony Post-Office, were caught by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,120 from a complainant. The accused demanded a bribe for releasing the commission on time deposit and the passbook.

MRI held for graft

The Mandal Revenue Inspector of Hayathnagar, A. Kanshi Ram, was caught by the ACB on Wednesday while accepting Rs. 4,000 bribe from a complainant. He was later released on bail. The MRI demanded a bribe to give an inspection report in favour of the complainant who had purchased the land.
