WARANGAL: The BSNL, Warangal is embarking upon a major expansion of its network and services in the ensuing year, said its general manager, K. K. Thakur. Addressing a press conference here, he said prospective programmes included upgrading of Parvathagiri telephone exchange, upgrading and inter-linking of the 20 low technology exchanges and five medium range exchanges.

Mr. Thakur said the ongoing work on 27 cell sites would be completed and commissioned soon which would enable the cellular customers to access signals in all parts of the district.

Broadband stations

Broadband stations were being set up at three urban areas and six more sites would be added wherever the waiting list was more than 150.

The general manager said they were introducing `phone-on-phone' to help consumers book new connection or for shifting of phone or enquiry about services. Plans were afoot to promote franchisees for the above services, he added.
