BSF recruitment camp begins

VISAKHAPATNAM: A selection camp for recruitment of Border Security Force constables began at Andhra University College of Engineering on Wednesday. As many as 2,300 candidates turned up for the recruitment at the six-day camp covering six districts from Srikakulam to Krishna.

This is the third year in a row that a BSF selection camp is being held in the city. The District and Rural Development Agency Project Director Kanna Babu inaugurated the camp. BSF Commandants, Y.P. Singh and A. Roy, District Employment Officer Ch. Subbi Reddy and AUCE Principal L. Joga Rao participated in the inauguration.

Financial support

Mr. Kanna Babu said that financial support had been provided to enable the Employment and Training Department to organise training for the aspirants. Commandant Singh expressed happiness at the support extended by the State Government and assured the candidates that the selection process would be transparent.

Vacancies were not generally filled and were allotted to other States.

According to Mr. Chitti Reddy, training has been going on since 2003 and post-cards are sent to eligible candidates after the notification is issued. Applications are provided to them and collected and sent in a bunch to Bangalore.
