`Bhagavatha saptaham' to begin on June 18

VISAKHAPATNAM: A `Bhagavatha saptaham' by Courtalam Peethadhipathi Sri Siddeswarananada Bharati will be organised at Lalitha Peetham in the city from Sunday.

It will be preceded by the aradhanotsvams of Sri Dakshinamurthy Maharaj, founder of Lalitha Peetham, and his successor Sri Avyakthananda Maharaj at the peetham premises in Lalithanagar on Friday.

Sri Lalita Homam, Sri Pratyangira Devi homam, and Sri Kali homam will be performed for three days each in that order beginning Friday.

Cultural programmes will also be organised and an `ashtavadhanam' will be conducted by Kondapi Muralikrishna on Saturday.

Music concerts

Noted journalist Potturi Venkateswara Rao and poets like Kondepudi Subbarao, Rambhatla Nrusimha Sarma, P.S.R. Anjaneya Prasad, and others will participate in the programmes which conclude on June 24. Devotional music concerts will also be conducted daily besides special pujas, according to manager of the peetham Vadarevu Subbarao.
