Attack on Jagan: police making misleading statements, says YSRCP

YSR Congress Party Political Coordinator of Vizianagaram district Majji Srinivasa Rao on Friday alleged that police officials, including the Director- General of Police, were trying to mislead the people by frequently telling that the person who had attacked Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was a supporter of YSRCP.

Addressing a media conference here, Mr. Srinivasa Rao, who was eyewitness to the incident at the airport, found fault with the DGP for organising a press meet even before knowing the truth and details about the attack.

“The government should take the owner of the restaurant Harshavardhan into custody so that the real conspiracy would be known to the public. The Police Department cannot escape from its responsibility by saying airport is under the control of the CISF. The very airport is also part of the State. So probe must be done,” said Mr.Srinivasa Rao.

‘False allegations’

The YSR Congress Party leader has also charged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers and others with making false allegations instead of trying to know the truth over the incident.

He said that Mr.Jagan Mohan Reddy would resume his Praja Sankalpa Yatra after recovery from the injury.

It is unfair to criticise Mr. Jagan for taking treatment in Hyderabad, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
