Thunderclouds likely

Thunderclouds are expected to develop in the city on Friday towards evening or night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 deg. and 21 deg. Celsius respectively. On Thursday the city recorded maximum temperature of 32.1 deg. C, minimum temperature of 21 deg. C while humidity was 73 per cent.

Nominated

The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry has nominated Sabir Patel, founder-president of the Hyderabad Mango Growers' Association, as member of its agriculture and agro-industries committee for 2004-05. Mr. Patel has authored the book, `Mango in India'. He exports food products under the banner Amir Enterprises.

Hindi Pandits

The relay hunger strike by members of the Hindi Pandits Struggle Committee entered the third day on Thursday, with the leaders threatening to intensify the agitation if the Government failed to announce the counselling schedule. Addressing the fasting members, N. Manmada Rao, president, criticised the Government for the delay even after promising to do justice to the Pandits and failing to implement the court directive given seven months ago ordering their appointment.

The Hyderabad Council of Human Welfare, Andhra Pradesh, organised a training programme on `Child Rights' on Wednesday for deputy inspectors of schools in Hyderabad district. The programme was aimed at creating awareness about child rights. The participants promised to create awareness among schoolchildren under their jurisdiction, according to Mohd. Rafiuddin, Director, HCHW.
