Rainfall recorded

The Gannavaram airport recorded a maximum temperature of 32.7 degree Celsius and a minimum of 24.2 degree Celsius, on Sunday. Humidity dropped from 92 per cent in the morning to 60 per cent in the evening. The airport recorded a rainfall of 11.7 mm.

Pushkaram review meet

The Krishna District Collector, K. Prabhakar Reddy, on Sunday asked officials to ensure proper functioning of the information centres set up at the Pushkar ghats and various vantage points in the city in view of the forthcoming 12-day Krishna Pushkarams. Interacting with members of the State Information Department, which is in the city to review arrangements for the Pushkarams, he pointed out that similar centres set up during the Godavari Pushkarams were of great help to the public. He urged them to make sure that the centres serve their purpose for the pilgrims this time too.

Divisional conference

The plight of locomen came into sharp focus at a divisional conference of All India Loco Running Staff Association of the South Central Railways, here on Sunday. Speakers deplored the inhuman conditions in which locomen were made to work for long hours at a stretch. The former joint secretary-general of the association, T. Hanumaiah, the State president of Centre for Indian Trade Union, M. A. Gafoor, and others were present.
