Trade unions plan rally

A procession will be taken out under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee of trade unions and `civil societies' here on Wednesday. Representatives of 47 trade unions and other associations will participate in the rally to register their protest against the "violence perpetrated by the State against the people and civil rights groups". Former IAS officer, B.D. Sarma, and the JAC State convenor, M.T. Khan, will address a public meeting to be held at the Gymkhana Grounds. - Staff Reporter

Attack on temple


The city unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, in a statement, condemned the attempts by terrorists and suicide bombers to destroy structures in Ayodhya. VHP State secretary, P. Venkataswami Naidu, gave a call for protecting the country by driving out terrorists. - Staff Reporter

BJP extends support

to RTC strike

The city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) extended its "full support" to the employees of the APSRTC who are on strike. The city president, L. R. K. Prasad, said the demands of the employees were fair. BJP leaders visited the Pundit Nehru Bus Station on Tuesday and expressed their solidarity, a statement said. - Staff Reporter

Inspection of land
