Summer camps for children

The Thakur Hari Prasad Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Mentally Handicapped is organising a summer camp from April 18 to May 12 for children aged between 5 and 15.

The Family World, too, will hold a summer camp for children in the age group of 4-15 from April 18 to May 15. The activities include swimming, skating and yoga. - Staff Reporter

A day-long course to improve handwriting (English) will be organised on May 1 for the benefit of those above 12 years at Literacy House, Andhra Mahila Sabha Academic Campus. Y. Mallikarjuna Rao, Director, National Handwriting Academy, will run the course. - Staff Reporter

Senior citizens'

plea

The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Senior Citizens' Organisation has pleaded for retention of benefits under Sections 80 L, 88 B as also the standard deduction for pensioners along with the proposed basic exemption limit at Rs.1.5 lakhs.

V. Visweraiah, secretary, in a statement suggested that, as an alternative, the Centre could raise the basic exemption limit to Rs.2.25 lakhs which would offset the withdrawal of benefits.

He said withdrawal of the rebates would increase their tax burden.- Staff Reporter
