Power shutdown

There will be no power supply under Nakkavanipalem sub-station on Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for undertaking maintenance work.

According to the Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operation Zone-I), H.Y. Dora, the areas affected will be P and T Colony, Nakkavanipalem, Krantinagar, TB Hospital, Vinayaknagar, CRR Telehpne Exchange, Bullayya College, TPT Colony, Seethammadhara, KRM Colony and MMTC Colony.

Sari expo

An exhibition-cum-sale of exclusive hand-printed cotton saris and salwars will be organised from Friday to March 29 at The Gallery on Beach Road. According to Usha P. of The Gallery, apart from summer-friendly saris, special long skirts and tops will be available.

Flyash awareness

An awareness programme on the use of flyash in clay bricks was organised by the NTPC-Simhadri Thermal Power Plant on Thursday.

As many as 35 manufacturers and owners of brick kilns from north Andhra attended the programme at which the Deputy Director from Central Building Research Institute (Roorkee), J.M. Bhatnagar, delivered the keynote address. The Deputy General Manager of NTPC-Simhadri, K. Yagna Narayana, welcomed the gathering.


The first batch of 180 students of Al-Ameer College of Engineering and Information Technology in Gudilova will be finishing their degree course this year.

According to its chairman, Siddiqi, and the secretary and correspondent, Farooqi, the fourth anniversary of the college would be held at Gurazada Kalaskhetram on Friday.
