All set for The Hindu Opportunities Fair

Top employers in the country open stalls to offer plum posts

HYDERABAD: Curtains will go up on The Hindu Opportunities Fair at Hitex Grounds in Madhapur here on Saturday, kick-starting career dreams of youngsters from across Andhra Pradesh and beyond the Telugu boundaries as well.

Scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., the event will continue till 6 p.m. on Sunday as close to 35 potential employers - most of them big names from the country's flourishing information technology industry - open their stalls to offer plum posts to a staggering 65,000 plus candidates who have registered so far.

Help desks

For those who have already registered online, there will be help desks, separately for freshers and those with prior work experience. The 70-odd stalls at the venue will have major players in IT, IT Enabled Services, software development, business process outsourcing and allied sectors sifting through resumes, conducting examinations and interviews and even handing out offer letters on the spot.

Similar to the job fairs organised by The Hindu earlier in Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore this year, the response has been from far and wide, and overwhelming. Job aspirants are trooping in from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and from almost all districts in Andhra Pradesh. The event is being presented in association with Cognizant Technology Solutions, iGate Global Solutions Ltd., Verizon and e-Serve. The associate sponsors of the event are Eenadu and ETV2, Central Court Hotel, Durga Jewellery, Blueshift and Aquafina.

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is also a partner in the mega event by operating 50 buses from various places to Hitex on both days. The buses will be run on normal ticket fare basis from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Depot managers of Hyderabad Central University, Hayatnagar, Hakimpet, Miyapur and Jeedimetla will extend their regular services operating up to Hi-tech City to Hitex. In addition to this, regular buses to Hi-tech City will be extended up to the venue. APSRTC will also operate adequate trips based on requirement.

For easy identification, a special paperboard with ` The Hindu Job Opportunities Fair, Hitex, Madhapur' written on it will be displayed on the front and rear windscreen glasses of the buses.
