Akula Sujatha takes charge

Mayor elect Akula Sujatha assumed charge at the Municipal Corporation building, here on Wednesday.

She occupied the seat after performing special puja as per the “muhurtam” set by Vedic pandits and signing the register in the presence of Collector (in-charge) and Special Officer D. Venkateswar Rao and local MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sujatha, who is the second mayor of the city, said that she would make maximum efforts to beautify the city with the support of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Member of Parliament Ms Kavitha and Ganesh Gupta. “We can get good financial support for developmental works from the Government as our party TRS is in power in civic body and also in the State”, she said.
