Women voters open Pandora’s box

MACHILIPTNAM: The fairer sex appeared to have taken the general elections more seriously in Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency. Serpentine queues of women were seen in front of many polling stations on Thursday.

The serpentine queues of women voters raised new hopes, and paved the way for new questions and challenges. While the large turnout rekindled hopes among political parties, it led to speculation about the party to which they had voted.

While Congress leaders claimed that women voters turned out to bring back Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy government, TD cadres claimed that women were determined to teach a lesson to the Congress. The PRP too appeared confident.
